JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (NASCAR) March 14 - For the first time in two years the Grand National cars returned to a dirt surface track, and it was one of the top dirt drivers of all time, David Pearson, who showed the other drivers in the Grand National East division the way around Jacksonville's half-mile oval.

Pearson finished the race two laps ahead of his teammate and second place finished Charlie Blanton of Gaffney, S.C.  Both Pearson and Blanton were in Chevrolet Camaros owned by Toy Bolton.

Finishing third was veteran driver Buck Baker in his white Pontiac Firebird and Wendell Scott was fourth on the track where he recorded his first Grand National victory some years ago.
